Policies

Code of Conduct for Coaches

The club aims to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and practice in Table Tennis and expects the same of club coaches, officials and volunteers acting on behalf of the club.

All coaches, officials and volunteers must:

·        treat every individual equally regardless of their age, gender, ethnic origin, religion, political persuasion, sexual orientation or disability

·        consider the well being and safety of participants at all times

·        contribute to a positive club ethos, based on mutual trust and respect

·        ensure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of participants

·        promote fair play

·        uphold high standards of behaviour and appearance

·        Not use or tolerate inappropriate or offensive language

·        abide by all the club’s rules, policies and codes of conduct and follow club guidelines

·        never exert undue influence over participants to obtain personal benefit or reward

·        never condone rule violations nor the use of prohibited substances

·        encourage all club members to use their skills and talents whether as players, officials or volunteers to contribute to the success of the club

·        attend necessary volunteer training courses provided by the ETTA and other recognised agencies e.g. Sport England, sports coach UK or local authority

·        attend all courses necessary to maintaining coaching status/qualifications up to date

·        complete a personal disclosure form and return it to the Club Welfare Officer

·        carry out their roles conscientiously.

Should you not understand, or have any doubts about any of the code of conduct and what it entails, you should speak to either the club Welfare Officer or Secretary before signing. In circumstances where the code of conduct is not followed, each case shall be dealt with individually and the discipline procedure followed.
