Christmas Party 2011
01/01/2012
Well done to Adam McKay for winning the annual competition. As well as the competition, everyone enjoyed a great evening of fun, games and food! Whilst the competition was running in the main hall, we had another coach running fun games in the 2nd hall. Alan had plenty of fun table tennis games and prizes to give away. Food was also provided during the evening. Photos will be available in the gallery soon!

New Showers Up and Running
01/01/2012
Following a £15,000 grant to install central heating and showers at Keighley Table Tennis and Recreation Centre, we are pleased to announce that all the work is now complete and that the showers are ready for use. Haworth Hawks are grateful for this addition to the great facility that they use for regular table tennis coaching and practice.
Christmas Break
16/12/2011
The club sessions on a Friday have now finished until the New Year. The first session back will be on Friday 6th January, with the new training times of:
5.30pm - 7.00pm = Beginners and lower intermediate (generally children under 12). £2.50 per session
7.00pm - 8.30pm = Upper Intermediate and Advanced (people aged between 12 - 18, or younger upon invitation). £2.50 per session.
Due to the low numbers, there will no longer be a Haworth Hawks adult session following the junior session, but the Centre will be open to those who want to practice.
Success in raising over £1,300
28/10/2011

A great day was enjoyed by all who attended the Keighley Table Tennis Centre and Haworth Hawks open day on Saturday 15th October. Over 100 people came through the doors to take part in and see a range of activities including Yorkshire regional table tennis exhibitions, table tennis competitions, taekwondo demonstrations, art displays and an ICT display by Cloud Free IT.

The fun carried on into the evening where KTTC and Haworth Hawks held their annual ‘Jungle Race Night’ fundraising event. The doors open at 7pm with 117 people filling the large hall at the dedicated table tennis centre. Most people made a quick dash to the bar, ordering enough drinks to last them through the first couple of races. When 7.30pm came the spotlight turned to the race table, with the animals all lined up ready to battle for the winning place. The tote opened for the first race and guests were invited to place their bets. The excitement continued to build throughout the evening and some very close races left people on their feet trying to get a closer look!

Half time break was much needed, and guests topped up their drinks, and got their curry / sandwich supper. Supper seemed to go down very well and it was back to the racing! The last auction race was the one that brought the most anticipation and excitement. Some animals were sold for £40 and over so the owners were desperate for theirs to win. Most animals got off to a flying start although I seem to remember one animal not doing too well, with much disappointment to the McKay family. As the race came down to the last few spaces, it was between 3 or 4 animals for the win. The Mason/Kilmisters’ thought they’d won but they were pipped to the post by the Shutt Family and company (also last years winner) who managed to take home over £130!!

A huge thank you has to go out to everyone that made the day and evening possible. But finally a huge thank you everyone who attended and supported KTTC and Haworth Hawks....

All together you have helped us raise a fantastic total of £1358.88!!

Thank you!

Adult/Junior competition
20/04/2011

A great afternoon was enjoyed by all who attended the Haworth Hawks Junior/Adult Competition on Saturday 16th April.

The session kicked off at 4.15pm with a challenging game between Joshua/Rebecca Poulsen Vs Nathan/Chris Ward, however it was'nt long before Josh lightened the mood with his comical quotes.

Iona Rainford and Bob Underwood put on an impressive display against Jethro/Shirley Rainford in the second round, with Bob delivering some thunderous shots.

Round 5 saw Barney/Sharon Cope up against strong duo Louie/Mark Haslam in which Louie/Mark came out on top.

Matthew/Emily Mellor showed good defending skills and professionalism throughout.

Well done to the overall winners Louie/Mark Haslam.

A big thanks to the coaches/referees who made the day possible and all who took part.
